Altrincham & Hale Chess Club

Venue: Timperley Village Club, 268 Stockport Road, Timperley, Altrincham, WA15 7UT
Directions: From the traffic lights at the centre of Timperley village, head towards Stockport and the club is about 100 yards on the right-hand side. There is a small car park at the club; if you use this you must enter your car registration on the iPad in the entrance hall to avoid a parking charge. 
If this car park is full there is a much larger one nearby on Thorley Lane (back to the traffic lights and turn left, then immediately right). To get into the club, press the button labelled ‘Club Room’ at the front door, and someone will let you in.

There is a portable ramp in the club which can be used to allow wheelchair access.

Ashton Community Chess Club

Venue: Broadoak & Smallshaw Community Centre, Broadoak Rd, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL6 8RS
Directions: From the centre of Ashton follow Oldham Road towards Oldham with Ikea on your left-hand side. At the traffic lights turn right into Wilshaw Lane and at the roundabout carry straight ahead onto Broadoak Road. The centre is on the right-hand side about 250 yards ahead.

Directions: M60 to junction 21; going onto Broadway A663. (If clockwise on M60 – at end of slip road go straight on at island and then left at lights. If anti-clockwise on M60 – at end of slip road turn right at lights and then right again at next lights). Go 1.5miles and turn right at crossroads with lights onto Middleton Road A669. Go past Asda on the left and then turn left (just past zebra crossing and just before Town Hall) into Victoria Street. Blue Club is 100 yards on left with parking opposite – entrance to car park is immediately on the right as you turn into Victoria Street).

Bolton Chess Club

Venue:  Victoria Hall (Back entrance), Ridgeway gates, Bolton, BL1 2AB
Directions: From the M60 take the M61 Preston then immediately take the A666 Bolton. Go down the A666 for about 3 miles and as you approach the first set of traffic lights on the A666 itself get into the inside lane marked M61 Preston and turn left. Stay in the inside lane and 400 yards later at the second set of lights take the second exit, signposted Wigan, into Marsden Road. At the next set of lights turn left into Deansgate. Go through the next set of lights Pass the YMCA rebuild, next left into Central St.
Parking: The Car park at the venue is closed at the moment there are 10 spaces to the left of the building. round the back. If that’s full, people will need to park outside the town hall on Le Mans Crescent and walk over to the venue. It’s a very short walk over.

Parking: Put your number plate into the car parking system, which is located in the bar area. Otherwise, you will be charged a parking fee.

From Stretford:
Come along Edge Lane (A5145) Until the junction of Wilbraham Road. Take the left-hand fork towards the centre of Chorlton.
Via Metro:
Chorlton Metro Station is 7-8 mins walk away via Wilbraham Road. Getting off the Metro, turn towards Chorlton Village (Pass Morrison’s supermarket). Cross over at the lights, Barlow Moor Road junction In Village Centre. Walk on for 5 more minutes Pub is on the rights hand side of the road.

Eccles Community Chess Club

Venue: 6 Albert Road, Eccles, M30 9QJ
Directions: From M602 Junction 2. Head North along A576 signposted towards Salford Royal Hospital, keeping in the left lane. Turn left up Wellington Road. Go past the pelican crossing until reaching the traffic lights. Turn right. The Match Venue is on the right.
From Monton: Head East down Monton Road / Half Edge Lane. At the second mini roundabout take the second exit into Albert Road. The Match Venue is on the left.
From Seedley: Head West along A576 signposted towards Eccles. After passing Salford Royal Hospital on the left, turn right at the second set of lights along Half Edge Lane. At the mini roundabout, turn left. The Match Venue is on the left.
Parking on match nights: Park on the drive if you can in front of the garages. Street parking is
also available.

Glossop Chess Club

Venue: Bradbury Community House, Market Street, Glossop, SK13 8AR.
Directions: Arriving in Glossop from the west on the A57, drive up the High Street and just as the hill levels out after a pedestrian crossing turn right into Market Street. Bradbury House is 40m on the right immediately before the right turning into Chapel Street. The Market Place Car Park is 40m beyond on the left and is free after 6pm.
If arriving from a different direction, at the main crossroads (with The Norfolk Arms on the corner) head west down the High Street taking the first left turning into Market Street and follow the directions above. We meet on the first floor, please ask at Reception if unsure. A lift is available.
Match Night: Mondays 7.30 – 10.30 pm.

Heywood Chess Club

Venue: Hopwood Sports Club, Manchester Road, Heywood, OL10 2AP
Directions:
The club is on the LEFT side of Manchester Rd going into Heywood from J19 of M62.
i Get to J19 of the M62
ii Take A6046 into Heywood. After 100 yards go straight over first mini-roundabout.
iii At the second mini-roundabout,100 yards later, turn left onto Coronation Avenue. 
iv After 100 yards come to traffic lights at T-junction.
v Turn right towards Heywood on Manchester Road (the A6045.) 
vi Follow the road for 300 yards where it will turn sharp left. 
vii IMMEDIATELY after this bend (so have your left indicator on as you round the bend) the Hopwood Sports Club is on the left-hand side. Pull into the lane and immediately turn right into the car park. Enter the club via the double doors, which are 30 yards to the left of the car park. Take the right-hand door which leads to the function room.

The premises are suitable for children and their parents with chess being played in a room away from the bar areas.
The bar provides a full range of drinks but limited food (nuts, crisps but no sweet foods).
Disabled access: Access to the club is via the main entrance, with three steps up to the playing area in the function room, which can be accessed directly from the car park by prior arrangement with the club.
There are no stipulations regarding bringing your own food and non-alcoholic drinks but alcoholic drinks are expected to be purchased from the bar areas.

Manchester Social Chess Club

Venue: Waldorf Manchester, 12 Gore St, Manchester, M1 3AQ

Manchester University Chess Club

The booking ends at 10:30 pm which might not be enough time to accommodate for the longer games so opposition teams will be asked if they are able to accommodate a 7:15 pm start

Marple & District Chess Club

Venue:  Navigation Pub, Stockport Rd, Marple, Stockport, SK6 6BD. (Upstairs function room)
Directions: From Stockport along A626 to Marple. At traffic lights in Marple (by Texaco garage) take middle road – Stockport Road B6101 – and continue straight on through two sets of lights. The Navigation pub is at the top, on the right, almost opposite the Regent cinema. Car parking is adjacent and to the rear, with other car parks nearby. Stairs to the function room are just inside the front entrance. Please announce your arrival at the bar before going to the function room as there are
private rooms upstairs.

Northenden Chess Club

Venue: Northenden Social Club 408-412 Palatine Rd, Manchester, M22 4JT 
Directions:
Entering Northenden from the north, crossing the river Mersey, the social club is on the right-hand side of Palatine road approaching the end of the village after Tesco which is also on the right. The entrance to the car park is just after the row of shops past Tesco. Sharp right at the phone box.
Entering Northenden from the other side, coming off the motorway or Princess Parkway or up Sale road, you go up Palatine road, past the Britannia Airport hotel on your left, the entrance to the club car park is just before the first row of shops on the left, past Moor end road, sharp left at the phone box.
NB: Anyone visiting the club will need to register their car number at the bar otherwise a parking fine may be charged

Stockport Chess Club

Venue: Ladybrook Hotel, Fir Road, Bramhall, Stockport, SK7 2NP
Directions:
From Bramhall and the south travel along Bramhall Lane South. After the railway bridge Fir Road is the second turn on the right. The Ladybrook is at the far end of Fir Road on the left.
From Stockport and Manchester on the A6 take Bramhall Lane, which becomes Bramhall Lane South, as far as Bramhall Park roundabout. Go straight across this and Fir road is the first turning immediately after it on the left. The Ladybrook is 500yds on the right.
From Hazel Grove and Poynton turn off Macclesfield road into Dean Lane which becomes Jacksons Lane and then Bridge Lane at the end of which is Bramhall Park roundabout. Take the first exit left and then immediately turn into Fir Road as above.
There is a large car park.
Bramhall Station is 20 minutes and Davenport Station 25 minutes away on foot

Directions:  From Junction 13, M60 take the A572 towards Swinton.  After crossing the East Lancashire Road, turn left onto Partington Lane and then left into Vicarage Road after about 500.  The venue is on the right towards the end of the road.

Three Cs Chess Club 

Venue:  St. Edwards RC Parish Hall, Spring Lane, Lees, Oldham, OL4 5AJ
 Directions:
A   From M60 (anticlockwise) or A62 (Manchester)
      Proceed to Hollinwood (M60 anti-clockwise – At junction 22 turn right onto A62)
i. From M60 Junction 22 (Hollinwood) or from Manchester follow the A62 towards
Oldham for about 2 miles until you start approaching a large roundabout with traffic
lights and a bridge above it.
ii. Approaching the bridge, go in the extreme right-hand lane, which will go under the
bridge and bend right as it does so.
iii. Immediately after bending right is another set of lights. Stay in the right-hand lane and
go straight on to the by-pass (A62 Huddersfield/Saddleworth). (i.e. do NOT go back
under the bridge to your right).
iv. Follow the by-pass to 2nd set of traffic lights (about ¾ mile) and turn right onto A669
(Lees/Saddleworth).
v. Follow A669 for about 1.5 miles until you go down a long steep hill and through the
traffic lights, Lees Brook Mill is on your right at the bottom of the hill.
vi. Just after the mill (and as the road begins to rise again) take first right into Burton St.  
vii. Go up Burton Street and turn first left into Spring Lane and then immediately left
through the gates of the St Edwards Church Parish Hall to the car park which is at the
rear of the building.  
viii. The entrance is through the double doors at the far end of the stone building.
 B. From M62/A627(M) Junction 18
i. Exit the M62 on to the A627 (M) and head in direction of Oldham.
ii. Take second exit (Elk Mill Shopping Centre will be on left at the traffic lights)
iii. Take 2nd exit on to Chadderton Way (dual Carriageway). Go along the dual
carriageway to large roundabout and take the third exit on to Oldham By-Pass.
iv. (Then follow the directions from “4” in “A” above).
